The situation at the park is chaotic and concerning. Need to develop long term solutions.

I wish a no loitering law could be enforced. 2 hrs limit. No shopping carts. It has become increasingly crowded in the park and is a huge distraction for visitors and those that live in the city. Trash, human and animal waste, and foul language emanates from the park. It was designed for families of all races and has become a refuge for the homeless. Give them an alternative or they will continue to come back.

As someone who works across the street from the park I am more than ready to have the table and chairs removed so I don’t have to listen to the yelling and smell the weed on a daily basis. Thank you for your consideration of this ask.

I have been witnessing the park and area for 17 years crummy co do at One Park Vista. The new park has become a liability to the city rather than the asset it should be. If it and the bus station area are not properly managed/policed, the downtown will be back to where it was when it was deserted creating a major loss of tax revenue to the city as property values will plummet.

If the grant that funded the outdoor furniture just said place in “public park”, can you please move to another park?

This is disgraceful the city has allowed this to happen to the park; something that was meant to honor Mrs. Merschel has turned into a haven for lawlessness and disorderly conduct. The city needs to implement and/or change its policies such as the bus station rules for waiting, remove the charging station, and look to other cities who have created effective loitering - camping - public nuisance laws.

Long overdue.
City politicians need to take heed. You are elected officials. Your seat can change.

I agree with this petition and Winston-Salem needs to find a way to rectify this issue.

Something has to give here. The park is getting worse and nobody is doing anything about it. We have city workers picking up after these slabs that are sitting there all day that is pathetic and a waste of taxpayer money.
And we need to enforce any loitering!
