Bike lanes were prematurely installed. Now creating gridlocks for anyone living along the Yonge Street corridor. I live this corridor everyday as a pedestrian. And as a taxpayer. It’s become an Uber highway with cyclists, mopeds, skate boarders with no regard to laws, stop signs and more. Poorly planned when traffic was at the minimum. Bike lanes need to go back to the drawing board with community support.

Emergency vehicles have great difficulty getting onto Yonge St. and getting thru traffic while the bike lanes are hardly used. Happy to see them go!

These bike lanes are very dangerous and should be moved to side streets. I have seen Ambulances stuck and not able to move on bloor street.

Recently moved from Toronto area to BC. Removing an arterial lane for a bike lane in a large city is simply wrong. Arterial lanes serve multiple purposes - commuting by car or bike, surface transit routes, taxi or other for hire vehicle use, evacuation routes, and emergency, maintenance, and construction vehicle use. As well, they maintain capacity in the system that can be used if there is a temporary problem on a parallel route (like accidents or construction) - put differently, helps maintain redundancy in the road network). Bike lanes serve only 3 purposes at best - commuting relatively short distances, recreation use (and for all ages, which should be considered a major safety concern for bike lanes along arterials), and very limited commercial use such as short distance delivery or courier services.

Bike lanes have reduced traffic to one lane each way, while major downtown arteries become more problematic. No street parking or nearby public parking lots will destroy thousands of jobs and the end of bespoke retailers and restaurants. Business Tax revenue will be reduced. Toronto City Council has gone overboard on this bike lane. initiative. We live in Southern Ontario, not The Netherlands. Does Olivia Chow truly believe bike lanes will be her legacy? WRONG. Destruction of downtown retail, commercial, and residential life will be disasterous.

There are no rules being enforced for cyclists. If one of them collides with and hurts a pedestrian ( I've witnessed one incident and seen several near catastrophes) how is the pedestrian compensated?

Bike lanes on main roads and unnecessary barriers (eg, on Avenue Rd between DuPont and Davenport) are causing huge congestion and should be removed.

Car commute times have had little impact they say....ok, pretend for a second...but where do they think the 50% traffic went?
Onto our sidewalkless sidestreets, blowing through stop signs, speeding, parking everywhere...our tertiary streets were not built for this.
150 trips (retired spandex wearing dentists riding their $10k bikes)get a safer environment, supposedly....what do the residents of this community get? Watching their ass at Brentwood and White Oak that they don't get killed.
This is left wing DEI ESG lunacy.
How much did this cost???
Oh, right....they won't tell us.
Why? Lol.....because they don't even know!
Lunatics.

Bike lanes, construction trucks and sites, CafeTO, protests and events all contributed to slowing down of Toronto traffic.

The bicycle lanes installed on Bloor St. W. on the Kingsway are fatally flawed and endanger the lives of young children, the handy-capped & the elderly and should be removed immediately!

Bike lanes have their place but not on the major downtown arteries such as Bloor Street, Avenue Road, University Avenue or Younge Street. These should be taken out.
