Given that we have witnessed years of mismanagement, poor decision making and lack of prudent financial planning we the signers of this petition urge Mrs. Leaney to step down as President of the Canyon Gate at Cinco Ranch HOA.
This is a critical time for our subdivision with decisions being made that will impact Canyon Gate for decades. We the undersigned do not believe Mrs. Leaney's leadership skills adequate to the task .We ask that for the good of all residents of Canyon Gate she step down immediately.

In consideration of the exceptional financial situation due in part to the Harvey Flood of the entire Canyon Gate at Cinco Ranch property, I am signing this petition as a vote of no confidence in the current HOA president. I believe the residents should have the opportunity to elect a new president that can lead us through this unprecedented challenge with transparency, adherence to the Bylaws of our community and an understanding of the financial burden that will be placed on this community.
I’ve given the benefit of the doubt and made an effort not to criticize other members of the community. I rather listen and offer to help. However the lack of transparency and communication along with the resignations are of great concern to me. Explanations are needed and, yes, it seems emergency elections may be unavoidable at this point. for me it is not about removing anybody but rather giving the opportunity for the community to listen to different POVs and express itself through elections. Ultimately we need to understand what is the financial standing of CG and what is the rebuilding plan. This affects us all and it has a direct impact on the value of our homes. This is not personal for me, I'm just looking out for my community.
After seeing the board resignations of Joe Gibson and now Jame White only today, it's time for Bernie Leaney to go. New leadership is warranted.
I've seen too much that speaks to mismanagement and poor planning. From ruining the entrance way to Canyon Gate to the willy-nilly installation of speed bumps with zero thought as to placement or style of speed bumps. Having reviewed a number of neighborhoods with speed bumps none seem to have the style that was chosen for CG. We look like the Kroger parking lot. But the biggest error was choosing to retire a debit while ignoring the need to add to our reserves. We are currently somewhere in the neighborhood of 500K short of where we should be. Because of that shortfall we forced to attempt to get a 30 year loan from the SBA to rebuild our fences. An expense that would have been covered had reserves been adequately funded. And the board was warned annually of this shortfall.
Leadership that is grounded in efficiency and effectiveness is badly needed for our community. The current president does not embody these qualities.
Need new leadership. 9 years too long

12 years is a long time to serve on any board even if it’s free. We need new leadership that is flexible and open to other views.
