This justice and mercy and generosity should form the underpinnings of our country's immigration policy. Please re-examine this case and release Mr. Charles

“Consistent with law, individuals who express a fear of return to Haiti will be screened by a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) asylum officer to determine whether they possess a credible fear of persecution or torture. Those determined to have a credible fear will be referred to immigration court for removal proceedings where they may apply for asylum or other forms of relief..." As the constitution affords due process, allow this man his day to argue his case in front of a judge sooner rather than later for disposition.

every civilized country honors the international law that provides for the right of political asylum. I want my country to be part of that group!
