Petition to Reinstate Robin Powers’ Classes at LillStreet

Robin is genuinely a gifted and generous teacher, and an amazing woman. I’d like to see some conflict resolution and have Robin hired back.

I owe all of my sculpting skills to Robin. Plus I drove and hour and a half each way for her class fir three years because it was just that good. Lill Street is out of there minds.

Robin's teaching inspires so many students. I'm heartbroken that she won't be at Lillestreet.

Please resolve this conflict. We love her too much to not stand up for someone who has helped us so much.

I discovered Lillstreet when I was moving from California to Chicago. Robins reputation for professionalism and talent made it all the way to the West Coast. I learned very quickly what an incredible individual Robin is. In addition I call many of the talented, wonderful human beings in her classes my friends. I certainly hope Bruce and David do the right thing here. I’d like to be able to continue to share my stories of how positive & impactful Lillstreet is.

The comments of my fellow students regarding the decision of Lill Street to accept Robin Power's resignation reflect my sentiments as well. The details surrounding her resignation are unclear, but it was not her wish to leave Lill Street. I hope it is a situation which can be rectified through earnest discussion. There is such need for instructors such as Robin Power at Lill Street!

Bring Robin Back!

Lillstreet suffers from a dearth of figure sculpture instructors and classes generally - I cannot understand how terminating the only dedicated figure sculpting instructor benefits Lillstreet and it's students. Robin is a talented, dedicated, caring instructor who is a huge asset to Lillstreet's ceramics program. This decision insures we all lose and I hope the administration will reconsider it immediately.

This is a big loss.

It’s hard to understand how someone like Robin, who represents Lil Street so well to it’s clients (the students), would not have their contract renewed. She gives generously with her time and wisdom and more than any other teacher that I have taken classes from has made a profound difference in my life. I encourage you strongly to rethink your position as there are very few people who can do what Robin does (connect, teach, impact for the better). We who attend her classes know this more intimately given our proximity and it is my hope that an administrative oversight would not cause Lil Street to lose their best asset and potentially a strong revenue stream.

She's made such a huge difference in my life in so many ways. Supportive during a hard time in my life with a terminal illness and she's made me grow as an artist and person. Please reinstate Robin and her amazing talent and classes

I began taking Robin’s Small Sculptures and Doll-making class in January. From the first moment I walked into the learning space, Robin and her devoted cohort made me feel welcome in ways I’ve not encountered in any of other art class, at Lillstreet or anywhere else. Robin has advocated for us, supported us, and taught us so much. Because of Robin’s care and instruction, we are not only better artists -- we are better people. If her contract is not renewed, this is taken away from us. It would an unthinkable shame to lose one of Lillstreet’s best and most beloved instructors over an email snafu, especially when it hurts the center's students and wonderful community. Unlike many other classes, Robin’s classes are always sold out and have to offer a waiting list. We clamour to be a part of her lessons. We mark the registration dates in our calendars so we don’t miss our chance to join. I hope Dave Trost and the rest of the administrators work to rectify this situation and reinstate Robin’s summer contract. It would mean the world to so many of us.
