Petition to reinstate Mark O’Brien as Fire Chief of Ogunquit Fire Department

Reinstate Mark. He has been a great asset to Ogunquit for many years and has been treated very unfairly by three selectboard members and the town manager.

I’m a full time, tax paying resident of Ogunquit and I support reinstating Mark!

He has my support and my whole families. Ogunquit was a better town with him in it. He needs to be reinstated so we can get back on track!!

The reaction across our town speaks loud and clear. What happened Tuesday evening was clearly a miscarriage of justice. Elements of due process were never followed by the Town Manager and the resultant dismissal of Mark O'Brien was wrong. I challenge the SB members to swear, under oath, their mind was not made up before they read one word of Mark's appeal. Do 3 board members have ANY idea of their fiduciary responsibilities? I support Mark O'Brien and hope, through whatever legal means necessary, he be reinstated as Ogunquit's Fire Chief

I was shock at the appeal hearing for Mark O’Brien. The chairman and 2select board members showed no respect and were arogrant and biased based on the evidence presented. Leadership in an organization starts at the Top. Why would a new town manager refuse to meet or answer emails from the Fire Chief?? Why would a town manager tell fire fighters to report directly to her, ask the staff to record conversations??? Why wouldn’t the town manager sit down in November of 2017 and discuss her concerns?? Why wouldn’t the town manager follow town proceedures for a progressive action plan with the chief? It seems to me that the town manager has violated ethicical, town guidelines and Federal Equal Opportunity Commission for her Fair treatment of an employee. Wasn’t it the select board calling the town manager to task for establishing a toxic work environment???? Fire Chief Mark O’Brien should be reinstated by the select board immediately.

Do the right thing.

Town Manager's "management style" should be up for discussion and lead to her termination. It is NEVER acceptable to keep the requirements and expectations of an employee a "secret" - that is taught in Management 101.

Our town needs employees like Mark O'Brien! I fully support his reinstatement!

At travesty and total miscarriage of justice on behalf of the town manager and the three elected officials. Happy to say I didn't vote for any of them but will petition to vote them out.

Let’s start over!!! I hate seeing our community so divided. I have the utmost confidence Mark will continue to lead our fire station with integrity and keep our community safe.

I have known Mark my entire life. He embodies what it means to be a great Leader and incredible person.
