The combination of having a full time librarian and a quality Accelerated Reading progam have resulted in the high achieving outcomes associated with our California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). To remove anyone of these resources willl become the demise of the great strides Golden Oak Community School has achieved for its students, community and the Districct. Therefore, reinstating our former school librarian needs to happen immediately.

There is a reason why our API has hit over 900, and that is solely due to a strong reading foundation. The top schools in the nation do not adjust their budgets with the library. Completely ridiculous. Put all of the librarians back!!!

Our district needs to align their priorities with the community that gives them a paycheck.

My daughter loves Mrs. Dempsey! The AR program has a great deal to do with all 3 of my children's love of reading & success in school! In order to continue Golden Oak's high achievement, a full time librarian is essential!

The Golden Oak children need the library open 5days a week! Many kids are stuck waiting till the following week to get more books and or ask questions. The part time schedule is not enough Quality time in the library to make the right choices on the selections of books. Plus the schedule is NOT a good fit for our school. Our current schedule is Monday, Tuesday and 1/2 of Wednesday. Well we lose some Monday's because of holidays and Tuesday is a half day for our students and Wednesday the librarian has to check out at 11:00ish to move on to the next school. Not enough time for all the class and not enough time for the Liberian to be fully committed to becoming familiar with our children's needs.
