I have been a licensed contractor here since 2005 and have never had so much trouble getting a C/O. It's ridiculous. My customers home has been done for a couple of months now, and I still cannot get a C/O. The energov system here is also a joke.

We have some very good department heads and staff but some areas are sadly lacking and need leadership to provide the service the citizens of Cape Coral deserve.

I completely agree that this city has a find a way to say no mentality unless you have ‘friends’ or ‘money’ to grease the wheels. Family in the approval stage of the permitting department of contractors seems like a huge conflict of interest especially when the family company is directly being approved by the relative.

We need major reforms and time frames to shorten. Every contractor moans when you say Cape Coral because it means months longer to get permits than anywhere else

Permitting within the City should be a welcoming process, not a nightmare. A more expedient process is essential to growth and the drawl of new business.
