With well over 10,000 events (takeoffs and landing) at the Torrance Airport, many "touch and goes" associated with the flight schools, the noise needs to be brought under control. The number of flights in the South and North rotation has been growing to the point where I believe we had over 17,000 in one recent month.
We need more than noise monitoring and polite encouragement to "Fly Friendly". We need to charge takeoff and landing fees. If it discourages the flight schools from doing flight training in Torrance, there are lots of other airports in the region. Let them go.

I am so angry about the noise from the planes. I moved here for the peace and quiet and paid a lot of money to do so. Fly the planes over YOUR home.

I agree with all the statements made in this petition. In addition, I'm opposed to the increasing number of jet take-offs and landings at Torrance Airport. These planes greatly increase the noise level in our residential areas. The number of jet operations at Torrance Airport needs to be decreased and enforced at a much lower level. All, or nearly all jet operations are commercial, and as such, they should be using LAX or Long Beach Airport.

I live on Paseo Tortugas and I can tell you that these planes are flying dangerously low over my house. The circling planes with takeoffs every 5 to 8 minutes is a constant noise issue over my house. Even makes me feel more scared knowing most of these planes are piloted by Students!

I live in Southwood and the increase in airport noise is driving us CRAZY! These practice takeoffs and landings have increased way too much, esp. with the hot weather and our windows open

Being a resident on the north side of the airport the low altitude early-turn (left or right) during the take off is causing a major noise level problems in the surrounding community; making things exponentially worse is the increased frequency of the approach-and-takeoff training flybys.

The number of planes that fly overhead has significantly increased. We need to increase the cost of taking off and landing at the airport to keep down the constant noise pollution.

Thr planes in ther last year are flying lower over Nadine Circle. We have to stop taking when we are outside w neighbors and pause the tv fuge to noise. Flight instructors should have to pay for every touch and go and ther dozens of circles. It's ridiculous.

Airport noise is much worse the past year, plus. I work at home and it's very difficult to have a conversation inside my home with all the airplane noise.

Dear Mayor and City Council of Torrance:
I can understand and accept the need for appropriate take-offs and landings at Torrance airport, but living under the flight path of stop-and-go training loops is obnoxious and irritating for an urban area and should be eliminated or reduced to an absolute minimum. Hearing the buzzing engines flying overhead every number of minutes is unpleasant, not to mention the exhaust pollutants and carbon emissions in 2022. The looping training flights should be moved to a more rural area.
Best and thanks,
Brian Bloomfield

Flight paths of small aircraft over residential neighborhoods are a danger and an nuisance.
