I have also been impacted by the airplane noise in north east Redondo and it’s severely impacting my sleep and wellbeing.

The amount of planes and helicopters throughout the day has increased and wakes my baby from naps all day. It is way too loud.

Do we know if these pilot schools are properly meeting Aircraft Inspection requirements? That should include airframe and engine, based on manufacture requirements. Each aircraft should have accurate logs of use and time signed and inspected by the city and a FAA inspector at prescribed intervals. Qualifications of training pilots should be proven to meet FAA standards. Proper certification By the FAA.

Love the airport but the flight schools have grown too big for this airport and city. Something needs to change

It's been almost a year, and either no decisions or decisions that don't get implemented months later

The plane noise is impacting my mental health. I stay at home due to health issues. I don't have air conditioning, so leave the windows open. As such, all I hear Monday to Saturday is planes, ALL THE TIME. Non-stop. I've lived in the same place, not far from the airport and did not have a problem. What is going on? I think it's because of Santa Monica Airport closing. That's sending all this traffic to Torrance and other airports.

The plane noise has increased dramatically. We’ve been a high tax paying member of the community for over 20 years. Our quality of life has suffered over the past two years. The 2023 summer has been dreadful. Plane traffic from 8am to well over 8:30pm. This is not just TOA, it’s plane traffic from other airports. I’ve counted up to 60 planes in one hour int the afternoons. All flying very low, which increases the noise. This is getting out of hand. Living near Torrance airport for two decades and never had problems. We expect the occasional plane, of course. What’s going on now is far from the norm. It’s hard to be outside now due to the constant noise—worse than car traffic and nearing construction level noise over 12 hours a day. This is NOISE pollution that is far from what should be tolerated.

We live in New Horizons, I work from home and my living and working conditions are now unbearable. I cannot keep my windows open in the summer, and my work performance is suffering. My elderly mother lives with me, she is a recovering cancer patient and cannot get the rest she needs. We have lived here over 20 years, mostly peaceful. The past 3 years, life has become extremely stressful. We cannot rest at night, we cannot enjoy our neighborhood. We used to golf, swim and take walks, enjoying the peace and quiet of the south bay with the occasional plane flying overhead. Now, the noise is so loud, my business is affected and we may be forced to leave our home. I have reported my concerns to Torrance Airport, Noise Abatement, FAA and tried to reach the tower with no success, they never pick up. I hope something is done soon. I've attended city meetings, and they always seem to promise change, but it has just gotten worse.

Noise is out of control. I move to the South Bay in 1978 and find that airport noise is much worse than before

please work to put together a sensible collaborative plan that respects residents with reasonable noise standards and flight patterns for pilots as well as consequences for not following rules
