Kicking Malik out of school is just unfair and makes no sense. Every action has a reaction; you can’t blame someone for how they respond. Go after the one who started it, not the one who reacted!

The decision to expel Malek Hamad from International College is a severe overreaction that prioritises the school’s image over fairness and truth. In the past, students have fought on campus, both minors, and were only suspended for a few days, never expelled. Yet Malek, a minor, is being expelled for an incident that happened off-campus and involved a 23-year-old adult who has admitted to the police, as reported on Al-Jadid, to having previously attacked Malek with a knife. The school should base its actions on the authorities’ findings and full context, not on public pressure or a single video clip. Punishing Malek to protect the school’s image undermines the legal and moral principle that decisions must be fair, proportionate, and grounded in evidence, not in social outrage. This one incident should not destroy a student’s entire future. We urge the school and community to act with empathy and perspective, not judgment.
