If you haven't yet been made aware of the allegations of an informal and unprofessional relationship between two staff personnel here at Salem College, then I invite you to read this letter which briefly describes the incident and the improper repercussions that followed:

There was an accusation made about a romantic relationship between a supervisor and a subordinate staff member. There has yet to be any kind of proof or further implications beyond circumstantial evidence to prove or disprove the claim. However the company outside of Salem who contracts these workers has taken action to isolate the incident. The issue lies with the flawed ideology to punish the woman involved and not give fair and equal "punishments" to the other person involved. The current repercussions will eventually cause this person to have to leave and resign from their position because the hours they have been re-assigned to work are not compatible with their schedule.

So I ask you, not whether you support the actions taken in an attempt to alleviate a potential problem, but do you support the actions taken against one of the persons involved in the allegation, and not the other?

If you disagree with the current way about which things are being handled then let your voice be heard. It is the student body who will benefit from keeping both personnel, and it is in the best interest of Salem Academy and College to avoid wrongfully allowing the punishment to continue.
