Save the art shop!! We need it!! It's a great resource

The art shop is the most precious resource that creative students have, it provides them the resource to create amazing work which gets noticed by industry. Events like the annual Art & Design degree show have been a huge success in the past few years with the help and resources stocked by the Art Shop. Taking this fundamental resource away from students will be hugely detrimental. The university is already 300+ undersubscribed this year, closing facilities like this will not help increase student numbers back to where they used to be.

The art shop needs to stay open so that students have easy access to the resources they need for there course it would be stupid to close it.

It would make a massive difference were the art shop to be shut down. I have managed to buy everything I've needed from this shop aswell as the collegues on my course. It has easy access and would effect students time were it to be closed!

The art shop was vital to my course helping me source materials and interesting paper. As Staffordshire University do art courses where do they expect the students who are paying £9000 to buy their art materials? There is no where else around Stoke. You are killing of your art courses and therefore a large amount of your income into the university. It's seems silly that a university with so many art courses won't have a art shop. Everyone there is so helpful and will source things for you. I really hope this changes and the shop stays open so future students get to experience the invaluable experience and amount of amazing products at great prices this shop has to offer. The courses will all suffer from the closure of this. I wouldn't be surprised if you loose students choosing their university over this.

I can't believe this is even being contemplated! Even though I graduated in 2009 I still buy art materials from the shop. The amount of time and money this shop saved me when I was studying illustration was huge. It would've been a massive inconvenience if I had to hop onto a bus into Hanley every time I needed something. The university is about to make a gigantic blunder if they close it, and I can only assume that the person(s) responsible for making this decision aren't affiliated with any creative courses and don't understand the importance of this shop within the university's creative community. I painted a mural that runs along a corridor in the library using materials purchased from the art shop, which once again saved me time and money. Very poor from the university, and I hope that they see sense.

When I joined this university, I was promised endless art facilities; one of the key factors that makes Staffordshire university stand out from the crowd. It would be upsetting to loose such a conveniently located store.
