having mobility issues, this place was a god send for ordering larger bulky/heavy items such as canvasses, and for 'not much time, but need it ASAP' items... and the staff are wonderfully helpful and knowledgeable.

I have recently graduated from staffs 3d design I am shocked to hear of the proposal to close. The art shop and its staff are a valued part of the art and design department, not only in providing the material we might need unexpectedly on a day to day basis (which we would otherwise not be able to get in a few days), but also in providing valueable knowledge into what materials are right for the job. It should not be closed and I feel and fear closure could result in the decline in some of the courses at staffs. The uni needs to compete with other art and design courses and the facilities it can provide, I have done many open days and the addition of the art shop has always been a welcome positive. Many potential students always ask 'do I have get my own supplies?' Students on art and design courses need on site supplies and guidance. Most art students will confirm that it is inefficient to order elsewhere due the time it takes for materials to arrive and not being able to get on with work can be detrimental, if you order online you don't always know what you will be getting or if what you are ordering is correct. Save the art shop

Noooooo the art shop was so important throughout my entire degree! Lack of funding?? The bloody cost of the degree has tripled since i was there so if anything open another!!!

This Art Shop has been beyond helpful over the past few years of being here, and is an asset to be appreciated abd cherished, it's also the most ideally located for students, it's OUR right to have one, we pay more than enough tuition for it!
