What justifiable reason is there for such a huge increase. What is the difference between this year and the last years expenses. To say dog owners must cover the costs......of what?

Haven't received the bill yet but I question what the prices are for working dogs, There is no way I am paying that much for 6 dogs! Has the council let public know this was happening or was the first we heard in the bill?

I do not believe there is any justifiable reason for increasing registration fees. Can the council explain why it is more expensive to register our dogs in Waimate than many other areas of NZ? I think probably not.

Dog rego prices are rude and shouldn't cost anything to register your dog unless you have 3 or more it should

Crazy prices! Different people getting charged completely different prices. And no discount on additional dog? - which means that people like myself with 2 dogs are now paying twice the price of last year for the same 2 dogs (who, by the way, have never ever escaped my property or had any negative attention drawn to them). Oamaru is just over a quarter of the price for dog registration.. No one is happy about these prices in a little town like Waimate. The new prices have created quite a stir and there are alot of pissed off people!

This is a blatant tax on dog owners, it's unfair and it's unjustified to try topping up the council coffers at the expense of dog owners!
