The NPMCN is dead if they accept this policy of NUC. What will impress young doctors to go for fellowship program if they have equivalent in PhD which is less stressful with short duration

Fellowship is higher and more tasking to achieve than PhD.
NUC does not understand this issue. The members need to be enlightened.

I agree with my colleagues who have signed the petition. MBBS is first degree and anyone with it can go4 phD and not make it compulsory that without it a medical doctor can't be VC, also fellowship is a big programme on it own and phD is not compulsory for all consultants except of free will.let us move health sector up not down besides what operates in developed countries with good health services

Return to status quo in order to preserve MBBS status. Medical Lecturers are working in 2 places, therefore they should be remunerated in a way to reflect such hard labour input. PhD/MD can only be voluntary but not mandatory and should not be a criteria for career progression.

The war against our FELLOWSHIP by NUC and their COLLABURATORS within our Medical Postgraduate Colleges should stop. There are enough evidences in term of research outputs that PhD holders are not better than our Fellowships. PhD holders cannot perform clinical function whereas Fellowships can perform both Clinical and Academic Functions. Enough is Enough of this distraction.
