To the President of Habib University,

To the Dean of SSE,

And to whomever it may concern;

We request Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) course to be offered free of cost in summer semester 2018.

It is of utmost concern that an estimated 20 students failed in CS foundation course, Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), and have to repeat this course later in their 4 years of graduation. As this course is being offered in the upcoming summer semester, most of these students will be taking this course during summers.

This course is extremely important for all SSE students, as this course is a pre-requisite for OOP and further SSE courses which will be offered starting from Fall semester 2018, and students will not be able to take further courses without passing this first, which could lead to the delay of their graduation by a year, hence it is important for SSE students to take this course during the summer semester.

Moreover, as it is a CS foundation course and CS students need a grade of C+ in this course as per their graduation requirement, many students who just passed by getting a C- or C need to take the course again for improvement.

However due to the high fee of the course (Rs. 40 000), majority of the students wanting to retake it cannot afford to take it during summers without having a major financial burden added, and face a possibility of having their graduation delayed. Hence, due to these aforementioned reasons, and due to the fact that there are so many students (approx 30-40) retaking this course, we request you to please make this course free of cost during summers.

We hope that you will consider this as a valid and legitimate request.
