Petition To Modify KBCC Nursing Dept. Exam Policy

I strongly encourage this petition to be approved because the exam policy has ALL the control. We work so hard to get to where we are just to be pushed aside over exam grades. We are hard workers, study hard and all want to succeed. The exams are the only way to move on to the next semester and I think that’s unfair. We do SO many extra work (assignments/ readings/ videos/ case studies/ vSIMS/ research papers/ ati exams and assignments/etc) that does NOT get averaged into our grade to PASS. That is not fair to us that we spend so much time on extra material that is not going to go towards our grade. Exams should NOT be the only way we pass because we are more then just an exam score, we are hardworking nursing students who dedicate ourselves. I also urge for a change in not reviewing our exams after the test because it’s unfair to us. How are we supposed to learn from our mistakes when we can’t discuss them ?? THIS IS THE ONLY NURSING SCHOOL WHO DOES NOT REVIEW THEIR EXAMS.... it’s extremely shady in my opinion because I myself have flagged certain questions to professors AFTER they’ve claimed to have reviewed the “fairness of the exam” after a lot of us failed BUT then they see my flagged question and say “omg I missed that one I will address it to give everyone points” ..... that is unacceptable and I don’t like leaving my future in these professors hands when they can’t seem to even write a fair exam or go over their flaws properly. I demand a change !!!!!! I worked so hard to get in to this program AS WE ALL DID!!! This nursing department needs to be for the STUDENTS and do the right thing and rewrite these exam policies

The tests are ridiculous, far from the PowerPoints and what we learn in class. And us not being able to view where we went wrong doesn’t make it any better.

I too have no idea where I need improvement because I cannot review my mistakes. I am distrote and lack the confidence of being a good nurse this semester

The blackboard system really doesn’t work properly while we take tests, it is not saving our answers automatically and we go further , losing our points for those questions ((((((

The way how questions are created is the issue. It takes a long time for students to understand what is question about. Some questions consist material that we have never herd on lectures. It is unfair to examine from things that was not taught

The city closed my kids school down, age 7 and 5, now I have to be the teacher, work, single parent and study somehow. When I'm in class they are in class but they don't have the attention span to sit there.

it is unfair to test on things weren't in the lecture and unable to learn from our mistakes on the exam

The students are unable to see if there are discrepancies (questions that aren’t clear, questions with two answers, inaccurate spelling)with exam questions.

I definitely agree that we should be able to view what we did wrong so we can improve

I think it would be better to let our names be seen. It will be more powerful. Why are you afraid of? We all have the right to voice our opinion. Thank you all!

Me too I agree with the petition and want to mention that all these drives students crazy with current conditions

This would be helpful because I know from previous exams I changed my answers a few times and sometimes the answers don't save. I rather take a paper copy of the exam that way there's no problem with the computer. I would also like to go over the questions I got wrong to know my mistakes.

This is also another reason why they are trying to implement examplify again for to use from home

I think its unfair that certain exams had questions that were not part of our learning. These questions are unfair and should be credited.

This would really help us improve our grades as we would be able to learn from our mistakes.
