I am a resident in the Town of Blacksburg and I support responsible development within the Town of Blacksburg.
I have learned that an out of town developer wants to rezone multiple parcels of land adjacent to Glade Road (Instrument #2008005892) from RR-1 (Low-density single family development) to a PRD (planned residential district) that is proposed to include approximately seven hundred (700) rental bedrooms marketed towards undergraduate students.

I believe this proposed development is completely out of character with the local neighborhoods and goes against the Blacksburg 2046 Comprehensive Plan, which defines the majority of the property as very low density residential in future land use.

I am opposed to the proposed development because it is not in accordance with current zoning and not in character with the surrounding neighborhoods.
