Petition to Maintain Current RR-1 Zoning on Parcels Owned by Glade Heights, LLC

I have learned that an out of town developer wants to rezone multiple parcels of land adjacent to Glade Road (Instrument #2008005892) from RR-1 (Low-density single family development) to a PRD (planned residential district) that is proposed to include approximately seven hundred (700) rental bedrooms marketed towards undergraduate students.
I believe this proposed development is completely out of character with the local neighborhoods and goes against the Blacksburg 2046 Comprehensive Plan, which defines the majority of the property as very low density residential in future land use.
I am opposed to the proposed development because it is not in accordance with current zoning and not in character with the surrounding neighborhoods.

700 rooms is way too many houses for that area. the traffic on glade is already a nightmare during rush hour. keep it like it is please.
WAY too many students for that tiny road. emergency vehicles wont even be able to get through if there is an accident.
We bought our house here specifically for the low density and quiet streets. Please dont ruin this.
Ridiculous. We dont need another massive student complex cutting through our neighborhood. Stick to the comp plan.
This goes against everything the town said regarding the future of that road. Greed ruins towns.
