Yes you can see discussion for movies on social media, but that's more for newly released movies or movies that were a big hit a long time ago. You had allowed the means for discussion on all movies, even if there wasn't much for obscure movies. There was likely still a few topics. Now that means is gone.

Please bring back the discussion forums. This was the fun part after I watched a movie to come there and read the discussions. I really enjoyed it. IMDb became less fun...

I don't often talk about films or TV online, but when I wanted to, I used to look to IMDB's boards for an unfiltered, raw look at what my fellow viewers thought. I didn't always agree with the varying opinions presented, but the boards were colourful and wonderfully diverse. With them gone, I don't have any reason to visit IMDB over any other sites anymore. Casting info can be found elsewhere, the stronger fandoms have found other homes, and the weaker communities have simply been wiped out. Truly a sad day for TV and movie enthusiasts. I hope it was worth it, Hollywood zombies.

The main reason for visiting IMDb is now gone. Bad move.

That moment when a large corporation in the name of "saving" or "making money" unwittingly illustrates it has lost touch with a key segment of its audience. Amazon/IMDB, this is your moment. Bring back the message boards. #savethecheerleader #saveimdbmessageboards

I'm livid they took this feature off IMDb. If it was too costly to maintain and time consuming, they could have contracted out to another platform, linked to IMDb pages. Seriously, get creative. Set better parameters, set up some type of algorithm to stop trolling, create a better way to offer a forum of discussion, etc. Big mistake, HUGE! I've gotta go shopping now (for a new TV/Movie information site)!

Social Media is NOT a replacement for the IMDb boards. There is nowhere else to discuss things like on these boards. I won't have much reason to come to the site any more.

Been on these boards forever. The individual discussion on specific films, directors, etc was incredible. Bring back the imdb forums.

I miss the humour, the insight and the camaraderie of the IMDB message boards. "100 things I learned from xxx" was a particular favourite of mine. I am not a great user of social media, but IMDB was a favourite hang-out of mine.

IMDB's message boards give unique insight into how other people reacted to a film, TV programme etc. It allows for passionate discussion between fans. Bring it back!

Best thing about IMDB were the forums seconded by the rating system and thirded by finding out which actor was in what film. I really miss the forums for silly stuff like finding out if other people thought the same way I did about a certain part of a film / program. I guess there might be another source for this.. but maybe not? Bring back the forums!!!! (please.. pretty please).
