Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

I often check out the varying opinions of films on the messageboards. Even if the opinions are two sides yelling at each other, the fact the film provokes such reaction is very informative.

There have been vile, nasty trolls as of late, but as the petition says, we come back on our own will.

I may not post on the message boards any more, but I've checked them almost every day for the last 10 years to see what people are saying about any specific film or TV show. It's where I go to read about buzz, predictions, or news. This is very disappointing to hear.

Long live IMDb message board!!

Dear imdb. Please dont shut down the messageboard. Its my go to guide for funny reviews or explanations. And anonymous. Ik zou er echt een beetje van balen!

please keep imdb message boards! for me it is the most intersting thing (despite the trolls) i really despise facebook etc & will never register there just to get other people opinions about a tv show! losing the message boards will downgrade my most favourite movie/tv page (for many years) down to something completely irrelevant since general "movie/tv info" information is available on many other pages as well. please keep message boards!

I've been an active user of IMDB for 13 years. The only reason is the message board. If it's eliminated I'll literally never go to the site again. There just won't be any reason. If I need to know an actors name I'll just google it.

Please reconsider

I do not & never will use Facebook. - And I looked at your Facebook page. It's a mess. Impossible to glean useful info & opinions from. With no message boards, there will be no reason for anyone to ever go to IMDB, so good luck wit that.

I am really against losing the message boards as they are a great source of insight and sharing about movies and TV. I have always found them a positive way to learn more from other's opinions and I appreciate getting other points of view of what I am watching. Keep the message boards!

Best part about the site. I have been reading daily. Never posted only because the registration seemed annoying to do.

Ludicrous decision. A real kick in the teeth to the users who made that site what it is (was) over many years. If it goes ahead they can shove their site.

These message boards were a valuable source of information for films. The information here added to the value of IMDB. The closing is a big mistake!

The only reason I use IMDB Is the forums. I don't care about ratings, trailers or reviews, I only use the forums. This is an inexplicable decision to throw away your the most valuable part of your web site, please reverse it before it's too late and you lose the majority of your visitors.
