save IMDB message boards

Do you think there are no trolls on Twitter or Facebook? You're very misinformed if you think trolling won't happen there. There's no way to replicate the wealth of information available on IMDb it's like a movie library. I think your reasons are blatant lies. I'm sure this comes down to money. It's a slap in the face for your loyal supporters. Closing the message boards will end IMDB, as there are many other sites to choose from, the message boards were the only things that set you apart from them. Your idea to close the message boards is reminiscent of New Coke! I only hope it backfires on you spectacularly as it did with them!

I have loved going to IMDb for over 10 years. These boards are not just important for sentimentality, but also in function. At the very least archive all of what is there, as it is an important resource and quite shame that it would be gone forever.

The message boards have been a fantastic medium for those of us who don't spend our time on other social media sites to have discussions, get information and yes, sometimes, argue! about our favourite shows. I won't be visiting IMdb nearly as often when they close.

I ALWAYS check message boards. Others sites offer the remaining information. Message boards made IMDB my choice. If they go, I'll go. No reason to stay. This was a stupid decision.

You want us to comment on Facebook and Twitter as if there were no chance vor trolls to join the conversation? Well, if that is your argument, closing down the message boards does not make any sense at all. So, just do not do it. Keep this wonderful community alive.

Hi, I have been a regular visitor on the IMDb message boards for over ten years. Every time I watch anything, I visit the message boards to read and contribute to conversations. I don't use Facebook or Twitter. This is the only place where I find like minded people to discuss movies and TV with. I think IMDb might lose most of its visitors since we can get information on films on Wikipedia, but the message boards are what make IMDb truly unique. I request you to please retain the message boards.

The message boards have been a great way for me to assess movies for my collection.

What's going on? How will I talk about the films I watch with anyone?

So deleting the message boards is supposed to enhance my user experience after 11 years ? Well, it will enhance it by me not bothering to log on to IMDB again. I can get everything else on Rotten Tomatoes. Bye.

IMDB is the only place I go to find out what other people are saying about TV shows and movies I'm watching. When the message boards are gone, so am I.

IMDb is unique in that it has a forum for each title and person, which makes information a lot more accessible.
