I am a passionate fan of the IMDB website, and although I have not used the message boards frequently. I find them informative and entertaining. I am hoping that the many signatures requesting that the message boards continue, will provide some alternative solution to the issue.

For every one comment in the IMDB forum that is on topic, there are three that are just posted to be hateful and bash either the OP or another commenter, most of the time, for no reason at all. Example: Post A: "I hope John Wick 2 beats out Fifty Shades Darker this weekend." Response A: "No one gives a **** what you hope." Response B: "I heard the dog was abused in the first John Wick so I hope this bombs!" Response C: "ur a ******* idiot! no dogs where hurt in john wich. ur thinking of a dogs life u stupid ****!" The IMDB forums are almost as bad as the YouTube comment section. It has devolved into a breeding ground of trolls, who spew garbage in every thread, just to get a reaction. The "ignore" option exists for a reason. Do most people use it? No. They choose to war with one another, making some threads five or six pages deep, with nothing but what basically can be summed up with, "F**k you!" "No, f**k YOU!" And that's when they're not spoiling every detail of a movie in the title of their threads, while proclaiming, "Well if you haven't seen the ******* movie, you shouldn't be in here in the first ******* place!" I will miss what the message boards USED to be. But at this point, I couldn't care less if they're removed. Because it's not the few screwing it up for the many, it's the many screwing it up for the few.

please do not disable this feature. yes there are many obnoxious comments but true film lovers want to have this forum and wisely ignore trolls. you should disable the ratings feature instead, where people can vote without even having seen the movie. we want to be able to discuss our thoughts and reminisce about movies! this is so unfair to us. PLEASE reconsider this decision.

Removing the message boards is a terrible idea that will only generate negative feelings toward the IMDB by the people who have been members for years. Please reconsider.

I just read the news of the removal of the message boards. I'm shocked and also sad that this is happening. This is the only site that i go to whenever i want to discuss a recent movie or a show that I've just watched. There is no other site that I know of that i can do the same. Please don't get rid of them.

People should be able to share there opinions about movies at the largest website about movies in the world. If IMDB doesn't maintain a forum like this someone else will, and IMDB will lose traffic.

Please keep the message boards on the IMDB website. Whenever I see a new movie or television show, I always come to the IMDB message boards to see what has been said; though I haven't personally commented. I also return to the message boards for movies and TV shows I have seen before. I often find out trivia facts about various productions of which I had previously been unaware. The message boards enhance the entertainment. Please, please keep them.

Part of my entertainment enjoyment for as long as I can remember has been coming to the message boards after watching something to see what has been said about it. It enriches my experience. I'm truly sorry to see it go. Please reconsider.

As a long-standing member of 16 years, I was never asked about "no longer providing a positive, useful experience for the vast majority." So I am wondering where you get your information about "vast majority". Your social media accounts do not equal your message boards. You state customers have migrated to your social media with 10 millions followers on Twitter. Compared to 250 million monthly users on your site largely due to the message boards? Many members have contributed a wealth of information on those message boards and now they will be deleted. Not only am I disappointed and think this is a very poor decision, unfortunately, without the message boards, I will no longer have a use for IMDB as there are plenty of other websites that offer movie database information. Your message boards has what has made your site unique. Without it, I believe it is the beginning of the end for IMDB's website.

I judge any movie I watch, despite the ratings on the boards. If there is many pages of discussion, good or bad. I wanna see that film! IMDB is one of my favorite sites and everytime my sites change crap, they ruin it. If people don't like the boards, don't open them! Don't spoil it for those who do. If I cannot come and read discussion on my favorite shows or stars I won't come to IMDB daily, thats for sure
