The state reversed the decision and Perkins Professional DayCare is officially staying open. We held our ground against an unfair process and forced them to listen to our community. Keep watching their next moves closely to ensure they leave this center alone for good.

We urge the governing body of North Carolina to reject the decision by the North Carolina Department of Human Services to stop the funding for students attending Perkins Professional Day Care. Closing Perkins Professional Day Care will not only effect the children attending, but it will also be a complete loss to the community.

There is no conceived evidence provided by NC DHHS that this child care facility is nothing but a stable environment for children in the community. This center has provided childcare for 39 years to multiple generations of children in and around Rockingham County. Perkins Professional Day Care has been wrongfully accused of falsifying information, harassed, and penalized for sign-in , sign-out sheets, while maintaining 97% accuracy. The allegations have nothing to do with the exemplar care given to the children who attend the center daily. Closing a center like this will not only effect parents by having to relocate their children, but it robs the community and the precious children of their home away from home.

Eden won't be the same without Perkins daycare. Its sentimental to most everyone in Rockingham County. Half of us either went there as kids and/or our kids went there and now the grandkids attend there. Don't take away our memories. We have LOVE for Perkins daycare!

My children attended this Day Care from babies to 12 yrs old. Never experienced an incident from the center. My children received love, structure, and guidance. I am thankful to Mrs. Elretha and staff for caring for my children as their own.

Eden needs this daycare to remain open. My daughters attended over 30 years ago. My daughter right now has to carry my granddaughter to Reidsville for childcare and that’s shameful. I support Perkins daycare

Worked there years ago,a good place to work,It's a shame you trying to take something she worked all her life for,Parents need somewhere to leave their kids while they work,no other places available around here that's for sure!

Perkins will NOT close without a fight. I remember Elrethas mom keeping me and my brother when we were young kids. I pray you look into this with exactly only facts, and not what you think.

I attended Perkins Professional Daycare as a child for years and always thought of Elretha as my second mother. I later began working at the facility for many years. This would be a disgrace to close down this daycare.

Perkins Daycare is a wonderful establishment. The owner is a very respectful lady. Shutting down this establishment down would be sad for our community. I pray that God continues to bless Perkins Daycare and it continues to thrive with the support that’s deserved ( private and governmental support).
