Ella's grave is a beautiful representation of her personality and a peaceful place for her family and friends to visit! I believe her memorial and other grave sites like hers in our local cemetery should remain untouched.

I can't believe I have to sign a petition to protect a child's grave. What happened to humanity and COMPASSION? Respect for the deceased and their family? They paid for that plot. So what if it doesn't look like the rest? They lost a CHILD. They have suffered the ultimate loss, and THEN paid a lot of money to lay that child to rest and to have a place to visit in their grief. You want to desecrate that grave so it conforms to the "look" of the rest of the graves??? Well, it's not like the rest.
To the family, I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine. Then this... All I can say is that hopefully the public outcry opens many eyes and you don't have to change that bright spot in a gloomy cemetery. A beautiful reminder for others visiting, who were probably blessed with far more years with their loved one, to cherish life.

My daughter is her best friend. She enjoys getting to go to a fun, loving place. Not a site that reminds her of the worst day of her life at 9 years old. If the color is there, the life is still with her.

A cemetery is a place to visit loved ones who've past. They should be decorated the way we wish as long as we take care of it. If no decor then we're just as dead looking at a headstone as they are buried under the dirt. This little girl went thru hell and will always be remembered for her bravery.
