Fifth Ave. Record Shop has been at 439 5th. Ave. in Brooklyn, NY since January, 1972. People who are now retired, used to come into the shop when they were kids. This is part of Brooklyn history and culture. Tony Mignone first opened the shop in 1965 on a part time basis and went full time in 1968 after quitting the US Post Office to sell records. Tony is 77 years old now and runs the oldest record shop in New York City. Please sign the petition to keep the record shop open. Please send a message to the most recent landlord that Brooklyn loves Fifth Ave. Record Shop. They have said they do not want to renew the lease. They are outsiders who are not in touch with Brooklyn and American Culture. The landlord has been elusive and is reported to be vacationing in Yemen. Thanks for signing the petition and helping out a local independent record shop.
