CAPS is an extremely valuable service, but due to lack of funding it has ridiculously long wait times. This could discourage some students from seeking out the help that they need. We should not have to wait that long to get help.

Mental health is very important, and 2-3 weeks of wait time is not acceptable. CAPS is doing their best once you actually get an appointment, but they need more resources to deliver the help when it matters the most.

I have not personally used CAPS. However, I have several friends that have, and I believe this is a valuable service offered by UCSD. At the same time, I am very pleased to see this petition. I believe CAPS is severely understaffed and underfunded. Hopefully this petition generates the attention needed to fix this crucial issue.

Please Do not cut the fund for CAPS. Low rating literally means that they need more funding and more people to support their work. Me and my GF were all helped by CAPS, and I hope that my signature could make a difference here.

The mental health of students is extremely important, and we need to be able to see a councelor on a weekly rather that a by-weekly basis.

I haven't followed through with my interest in seeing a counselor at CAPS because of how difficult they make it seem to make appointments. My problems feel like a burden since there's a lack of counselors to assist.

I remember being on the phone, desperately looking for a counselor the day before my 2nd year began. The wait time was horrendously long, and I could only schedule an appointment for weeks later. I wasn't going to last that long, and I attempted suicide the next day in my dorm. Not a pleasant experience for anyone around - ambulance, police knocking, everything. It's unsettling for everyone. Of course, I'm glad I'm finally better and back at school, but CAPS really needs more support to help the huge UCSD population.

Students' mental health is more important than literally anything else that funding could be spent on.

Here's to more psychologists available for students, even and ESPECIALLY if it's during midterms and finals.
