PETITION TO HAVE THE USVI RECUSED FROM THE 2019 MS. UNIVERSE COMPETITION

I believe only if you were born in the Virgin Islands should they be able to compete.

and i was there for the event i was there to bury my father cyprian caul but what check here i see how them girls get in the contest but we can't blame nobody by we i'm sorry i wish i had put my daughter Alijah caul who win home coming queen in nj and with that she could had enter if i had me eye on it but next year we see... jah know true love for the VI

Please remove her she was not born or raised and knows nothing

We need representation

I believe our USVI flag should be removed immediately from the 2019 Miss Universe pageant.

She cannot and should NOT be representing the US Virgin Islands due to the facts stated. There is no ill will towards her as we accept and welcome all to our home, but what we will NOT accept is that someone use us for personal gain for a crown that they could not rightfully and fairly win 3-4 different times in other states. We may be a small island with a small community, but we are not small minded “mules” to put it kindly and keeping it PG-13.

Bs finding simple ways to take advantage of and screw us

USVI needs to have their own representative, that would be the face of what these islands stand for. Culture, traditions and knowledge of what you are representing. Authenticity is what the beautiful women of the USA Virgin Islands have.

The limited opportunity to represent our territory should not be further limited by pageant politics and byass. As a territory it is imperative that we are firm in our values and island pride. The issue here is not that this young lady is Caucasion, nor is it that she wasn't born here. My issue lies in the mere fact that exceptional representation requires a certain level of pride and knowledge that can only be obtained through genuine interest. Had she come to the islands, lived, educate herself on the people and culture, and attempted to run solely for this pageant, I would have no issue. It is time to stand up and show individuals that we are not an easy pathway to fame, but a unique and distinct people, worthy of genuine representation.

This is unacceptable and being a proud Virgin Islander born and raised we must stop colonizers from taking what belongs to us, even something as small as a pageant. I stand with my people.

Keep corruption OUT of competitions.

As a former pageant ambassador, I support this petition. It is imperative to safeguard the future of territories from discrimination, racism, and prejudice. Those things are not welcomed here. United we stand, divided we fall!
