Mr. Baker deserves this honor because he was an effective catalyst in transitioning two segregated high schools into one. He treated ALL students and staff with the upmost respect and we were ONE!!! Most of all he was fair, caring, nurturing, policy-driven, an effective communicator, talented, articulate, focused on the latest trends/hot topic in education, a role model/mentor and a “Class Act”. Mr. Baker exemplified his Christian beliefs through his actions and interactions. He was and still is an “Education Guru” in my opinion. When people look at this building they will see LOVE, STRENGTH, KNOWLEDGE, DETERMINATION, PERSEVERANCE AND COMPASSION.

As the Class President, CCHS '80, I stand in full support in naming the new Fine Arts & Performing Center in honor of Mr. Peter J. Baker. While many have significantly impacted our education in Camden County, Mr. Baker's contributions over decades is still visible in the lives of those of us who came thru the education system under his watch!
With this, I tender my full support and recommendation for this honor and recognition for Mr. Peter James Baker.

Mr. Baker deserve to be honored, he has made a lot of money for this county, keeping faculties working, keeping thousands of students in school, bringing together principal, teachers parents and students all together and worked through the difficulties of it all. When you honor this man let us honor him from our hearts also.

Professor Baker is a well respected individual in the Black community as well as in the Educational System and arena in Camden county and the surrounding areas, and has accomplished much in his educational endeavors. His work in the field of Education speaks loudly , and proves that he is a qualified candidate, and is well worthy of this honor.
