Petition to give RSPCA more powers/or less excuses for not using powers to help protect helpless animals in cases of abandonment/neglect or owner diff
This is a petition to try to change the way the RSPCA act on information of neglected/abandoned animals or those whos owners can no longer care for them. They need to ACT BEFORE the animal suffers. The public have had enough of calling in cases only to hear the RSPCA fob them off with excuses like 'We can't attend tonight as it is dark/a risk for our officer' or 'We will open a case first thing in the morning' or 'Call a vet and have it put down, we don't have the resources to deal with this right now' Plenty of people part with hard earned cash for the good of these animals but it clearly never reaches the animals or goes so far as the actual centres caring for these animals? Where does it go? In the MDs pocket I should think. Something needs to be done, there ought to be powers to liase with members of the public who can house the animal and give their time to its care on behalf of the RSPCA with them footing the bill or the other way around so we don't hear any more of this 'We don't have room etc' rubbish. It's an animal charity!! Looking after too many animals in an over crowded facility is better than leaving them all to starve and may just offer the urgent incentive for the RSPCA officers to get off their backsides, do the paper work and get more animals rehomed properly and quickly!!
