Since November 2008, BlazBlue has been one of the world's greatest fighting games. One of the factors for this is the amazing story mode. On August 2010, a prequel novel called "BlazBlue - Phase Zero", which was later added as part of the campaign for the 2014 game "BlazBlue - Chrono Phantasma."

On March 2014, an interview with BlazBlue series producer Toshimichi Mori expressed interest in localizing the novels in the quote:

"You know the BlazBlue Phase 0 novel? Chrono Phantasma has the Phase 0 story in it. If people are fans I can see if I can ask if it can get localized."
