Lutcher high's band has declined massively since former director David Lott left. The band went from high stepping, BOTB's, and concert festivals, to not even entertaining a crowd. Mrs.Holmes made tons of promises the first day the kids met her, and has yet to fulfill any of them. She is a nice person, but the attitude is unnecessary. Lutcher is a show style band, yet she doesn't do anything in that fashion. She does not teach the students much of anything It was said that the students can literally predict what the class will consist of that day. I haven't heard not a single new tune played by the band since the first appearance. It's time for a change.

Mrs. Holmes is not equipt to be a band director for any school, let's just be honest. why send your children to sign up for band when they will do the same thing everyday? That's insanity. The great Albert Einstein said doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is insanity and that's just what's happening in Lutcher's band room every single day. How do you expect different outcomes if you do the EXACT same thing everytime. Every good teacher knows that trying different things are important. Think. Don't set your kids up for failure.
The band director is so Inconsiderate. For the Krewe Of Adonis Parade in Thibodeaux it was 45 degrees and she refused to let me wear my jacket. she said , " EVERYONE HAS TO LOOK SAME , EVERYONE HAS TO BE UNIFORMED." as if we all didn't have the same Lutcher High School band jackets. I suffered from a cold that week and i fully blame her. If you are not caring, don't deal with adolescents.
I was apart of that David Lott dynasty so it hard to look back at what we used to be and than look at whats left now
Yes da whole football season was dead.. Da away team come on our Field and show off Dats not like Lutcher Band
I've helped with the flag team during football and parade season. Unclear on who was directing the band and they both had very rude and nasty attitudes not only to chaperones but students as well
Same songs over and over, she don't even speak in the morning.
