The brige is badly needed as well as replacement of who ever is head of DOTD with some of their screw ball fixes they have done in the past.

The bridge should have been rebuilt years ago. It is dangerous to drive on; not counting all the wrecks that happen on it. I've seen pictures of the underside of the bridge, and even posted a few pictures of the columns on my Facebook wall a few months ago. I live in Sulphur and work on the other side of Lake Charles. I spend the extra time and drive around on 210 every day. I AVOID THE I-10 BRIDGE. I dread this summer when they shut down 210 for the most part when they start the 2 year construction project on its bridge. Traffic will be congested all over both of them. My opinion, due to all the plant work, Sasol, and 5-6 PM traffic, I believe that the new I 10 bridge should be a 6-Lane, and keep three lanes on each side throughout Lake Charles. Rebuild this bridge first, then do the 2 year 210 construction. Things would go a lot smoother for everyone. Thanks for taking the time and reading, have a good day.

Campaigning for a new bridge has been long overdue. I live in Westlake and work south of Lake Charles- work trip takes me to 210 from here so I only frequent I 10 bridge on weekends. My wife has work in Lake Charles and her route takes her over I 10 bridge. Everyone I know has talked about this bridge as far back as I can remember. Westlake residents definitely support a new bridge.
