Absolutely awful policy!

It's outrageous to even consider threatening the job security of adjunct faculty. The success of any university, particularly new Paltz, is built on the back of adjunct faculty members and their position should be respected

This is also happening at SUNY Buffalo Center within the School of Management. In solidarity!

Blanket non-renewals are antithetical to the spirit of providing advance notice of non-renewal.

Our adjunct employees deserve the utmost respect, we need to make sure that all of our actions towards them are clear and respectful. Systems that are in place that cause undue anxiety are not conducive to healthy work environments. Please try to use our administration's resources to support and uphold the important work that they are doing here.

Respect and value the dignity of the labor, and the contributions made by our part-time contingent faculty in disciplines across the campus

Neutrality does not exist in practice. A “blanket” decision made in an unequal system will always have unequal consequences. If those consequences disproportionately affect marginalized faculty, we have to name that for what it is!!!
