I live and teach in East Lansing, Michigan, USA. We currently have a beautiful and powerfully provocative artwork by Jelili Atiku on display at the Eli Broad Contemporary Art Museum. His work is accompanied by several other world-renowned artists, attesting to Jelili's credibility and artistic prominence. Charges against Jelili must be dropped because dubious political interests cannot and will not silence a great artist's message. Jelili's work on display here in the USA only gains importance as his freedom of speech is challenged in Lagos. His message because ever more urgent because these charges attempt to stifle his voice!
