Tournaments, local and non locals constantly carving up the Walleye, it will hurt in the long run. People will no longer fish the bay when they are getting just small fish, Iv'e seen it happen on Mil Lacs, Winnebago, and others, now it's happening on the Bay. In order to keep pictures like this coming, for Gods sake protect them!! I saw a guy carving up a limit of 27" fish or better,, what the heck? Then when I said something he said rudely, "DNR doesn't care why should I",, and "I'll keep carving the biggest of the biggest up". That was just one guy,, can you imagine the damage if hundreds of others are doing the same? Stop this, put a protective limit on them, it's plenty for eating and gives the fishery a chance to flurish not decline!

We need to protect the big fish as it takes 15 years for them to become 30" in many cases not to mention they don't taste as good and they make replicas these days!

I've fished walleye and perch on bay for 25 years. I saw what happened to the perch fishing and the same is happening to walleye. In fall, I could almost guarantee a 10-12 lb walleye every trip, now it's one or two a season. The size and population is on fast decline. I've been saying it for 15 years. Please practice catch and release. I would love to show my children the fishery I had growing up. Will take 10-15 years for fishery to recover at this point if we practice release.

I'm all for it! No reason to keep/kill those big breeders. Plenty of smaller walleye to eat for a meal. The price of a replica has come down considerably. No excuses! Come on DNR!!
