Petition to Continue Commercial Activity at Caxambas Park

These professionals, are not the problem.

I vacation in Florida and I know the negative impact this will have on recreational activities, the economy, and the citizens who earn a living providing services. The boat captains and crews will have a loss of income and will be unable to provide services for visitors and people who live in Florida.

Stop trampling on the rights of our businesses and our ability to choose leisure activities. Our business pay taxes that help support these parks and our government is not here to dictate what we can and cannot do.

Stop this from happening!

This is terrible. Tourists who come to SW Florida like to take the boat tours and spend millions of dollars that helps the economy of the area. Why don’t they build another parking lot nearby?

Decisions keep being made that impact the little guy. Those without boats can only get to the 10,000 islands with the help of others. Quit denying access to most of us.

Shutting down the launch would be detrimental to the local economy and to the livelihoods of those that rely on it for their business.

Please don’t shut down the local economy and tourist business!

Keep it open, charter captains and tours make tourists happy and gets the money flowing for water activities. Goodland will be swamped if it shuts down cax.

Once again free enterprise is threatened by inept government oppressors. Tax paying businesses should be allowed access to use public facilities for the greater good of the local community…which drives tourism…which enables restaurants, hotels, shops, all businesses in the area to thrive. Don’t be foolish to cut thy nose to spite thy face.

Florida beach and all beach access should be free for visiting can get touring to beautiful beach and this is tourist state

Do not shut these businesses down. They are fun family things to do. It keeps kids minds wondering what they are going to see or find.

This will have devastating effects on small business owners that rely on that access, coming off such a difficult year it is shocking this is even being considered.

What a tragedy it would be to lose this asset to the community. I support locally-owned businesses in conjunction with Caxambas approximately 15 times a year. Please don't do this!

This shouldn’t be allowed to happen! A total town being closed to outsiders? Marco is a beautiful town & has many wonderful beaches & activities. You will be taking their livelihood away & dollars for the town, not to mention placing a black mark on your lovely town forever.

Why take away from tourists? Poor planning by city managers.

My husband and I look forward to our shelling excursions every year in the 10,000 Islands. We have sent friends down there who are equally in love with the boating/shelling tours they take. Please consider the impact your decision will have on the small business owners as well as the tourists who will give up the area.

If Marco Island wants to continue it’s great appeal and comfortable revenue then they should wake up and realize that small businesses are their backbone and that they should celebrate that. Caxambas Pass should continue to allow anyone to launch a watercraft. Next thing you know they will only allow blond haired, blue-eyed captains who reside at odd number addresses to
