This intersection is now dangerous. I agree with the comments above. It doesn't allow the radius needed to make the turn for more than one car at at time and definitely not for school buses and larger vehicles.

This intersection carries a significant amount of neighbor traffic and needs to be redone as originally proposed for safety.

It does not surprise me that the developer has modified this intersection without permit or approval. The Transportation Dept. has already blessed it by painting a crosswalk, reinstalling the stop sign on Ashley Hall Plantation Road that was knocked over & serves no purpose, moving a speed hump farther down Captiva, & repainting the center yellow line exclusively in front of this development. This Myrtle Beach based developer has been so far allowed to clear cut the trees, construct a street which is not standard width & has to be one way, tear off the roof & 2nd story of a "historic" house & not cover it allowing it to rot, destroy portions of a beautiful brick wall, & plan to kill acres of marsh so as to construct docks hundreds of feet long. It is fortunate that we have not seen the developer install a traffic light at that intersection as the red light would always be on for Captiva & Ashley Hall Plantation cars & green for those coming out of this destructive development.

This is an improper taking of road right-of-way and makes the intersection more dangerous and there is insufficient room for large vehicles. Fire trucks, garbage trucks and school buses have too small of an area to make the turn when other traffic is present. Any vehicle with a trailer cannot make the turn without crossing into other lanes. Traffic from the settlement is misaligned with the existing roadway and will cause accidents as vehicles cross the narrow space. The intersection should be returned to the original configuration and the settlement should align their road and sidewalk to the way the intersection used to be. The settlement is outside the city limits and has no right to infringe on the original intersection design. The portion of the settlement entrance and exit of on city right-of way should be constructed to city specifications. The settlement sidewalk should probably be on the other side of the Colononware entrance and located next to 2004 Ironstone Alley lot. There is insufficient room for a sidewalk next to the existing tree at the entrance to Colononware Drive.

Very disappointed in the changes to the proposed plan. I have driven myself to work and my children to school via this route for years - and I now have safety concerns where I did not before.

Heavy commercial vehicles ruin the shoulders when they run off the road turning.

There should be a fine for modifying public streets without authority. The developer or those responsible should lose its license and pay fines. I wonder if they even had permission to tie their drainage into the street outside of the brick wall where they cut the wall and laid down a pipe...Outrageous.

The city should have him put everything back as it was. Since his development isn't in the city, the city has no obligation to assist in this development.

I have said since construction this was unsafe. More than 10ft of the roadway was removed from the Captiva road side and anything larger than a Prius struggles to make the left hand turn safely. I have been on Ashley Hall Plantation road a few mornings and had to either back up or stop short to allow the school bus to have enough room to make the turn.

This development should have never been approved. It significantly deteriorates the safety and quality of life for existing residences. The flooding has gotten much worse, wildlife has no where to live, traffic will increase and kids will not be safe.

With increased homes going into this area and the intersection reduced, it is dangerous and very poor planning.
