Petition to Change our Graduation Processional

Dear Administration, Teachers, and Parents of Aliso Niguel High School,
We as a student body are signing this petition for the purpose of changing
the song to our graduation processional. Many schools throughout our nation
have used the classic "Pomp and Circumstance". (Jump to 1:50;

*Unfortunately, our rendition of "Pomp and Circumstance" lacks
the choir and string orchestra.
Being that we are a unique school of among many graduating classes, we believe
that we deserve a unique song for our processional. The song we are requesting
to replace "Pomp and Circumstance" is "The Imperial March",
composed by John Williams for Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back.

We, as a class, choose this song for various reasons, including but not
limited to:
- We believe that graduation should be a memorable occasion. Such can an
occasion can further be immortalized by a change in our processional music.
- We believe that our friends and family should not just be limited to sentimentalism. “Imperial March” can convey a sense of pride from us as a graduating class to our friends and family.
Some may be concerned with the cost of purchasing the music for this to occur. Within
our music library, we already have the key portion of “Imperial March”. Any additional
changes could be done by the Band Director, David Weinberg.
Sincerely,
Class of 2013
