Petition to change Lancaster County SC Police, Fire and EMS back to analog transmissions.
We, the undersigned citizens do hereby request that the County of Lancaster SC Sheriff,Fire, and EMS public services discontinue the digitally encrypted transmissions and keep these scanner frequencies open, transparent, unedited and free.
The Lancaster County SC Sheriff, Fire and EMS has been open, transparent, unedited and free for many years.
A lot of Lancaster County residents and surrounding communities depend and rely on the scanner for its unedited, open, free and transparent information. Returning to an unedited, open, free and transparent scanner system helps inform residents as to what is going on in our county and we want to keep it that way.
For highly sensitive and investigative communications there is always the use of cell phones.

Local taxpayers own those frequencies. We should be able to hear what our emergency services are doing without having to pay for a subscription or deal with encryption blockades.
