My car wont even start in this cold and the walk from the dorms is way too long. Please just close down for the day so we dont have to risk it.

I am a 2009 graduate and survivor of the ice storm. Your priority is to your students, plain and simple. Failure to comply with the request to act in the best interest of your students' well-being would be a surefire way to get me and other alumni to network with each other and cease donations to an institution willing to forsake its own students, faculty, and staff in the name of perceived punctuality. Please do not make me regret my ties with your institution.

I just hate that my decision to safe will cause me to have to miss classes and potentially lose points or a grade letter. Stay safe and stay warm!

The closing policies were ridiculous 10 years ago when I was a student, they were ridiculous 5 years ago when I was staff, and they're still ridiculous now to have anyone out in wind chill of -20 to -30. Frostbite sets in at 10 minutes in these conditions and most students will have to traverse the frozen campus for longer than that at every class switch. Way to show your concern for your students and staff.

No one needs to be out in this weather. Even walking to class can be dangerous, and many of our students do not have proper clothing to handle this type of weather.

Very true, the cold and tricky road and sidewalk conditions are not condusive to a good learning enviroment.
