This almost makes me ashamed to tell anyone I spent all of my school years in this county. I hope that us Christians will finally begin to take a stand and fight for our beliefs! They would have to fire me as a teacher or expel/suspend me as a student because I would to continue showing and voicing my beliefs and talk with others to grow in knowledge on their beliefs!!!!

The BOE Guidelines are by their very nature a direct violation of the First Amendment's Free Exercise Clause for the BOE's actions infringe the free exercise of religion in the public square. At the same time the BOE has violated the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment, since the establishment of a secular, irreligious viewpoint is necessarily to establish the preference for one view of religion over all other views of religion. The BOE stands liable due to the violation of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.

This is not a matter of religious oppression. it is a matter of keeping children in class from feeling that they are being influenced to choose a certain religion. no one is saying that you cannot be Christian or even practice your religion, but you cannot attempt to exercise your religion (to any end) in front of, on or for a student unless given consent. It is the same for all teachers, no matter of their religious background. please stop trying to turn this into a religious debate.

We choose to live in Bulloch County for a reason. If you do not share our values you have the freedom to leave and find a community that is more to your liking. We encourage you to do so.

So, are teachers who must teach religions as a part of the curriculum going to be told that state standards should also be removed from the content because “it might offend someone"? Are Muslim teachers going to be forced to remove their head coverings or refrain from praying facing Mecca 5 times daily? Will Hindu teachers be forced to wear Americanized clothing and avoid putting the red dot on their forehead? Christians take a stand! If it is unconstitutional to force citizens from other cultures to refrain from practicing their religions, the same holds for us!

Bulloch County Board of Education, you should be ashamed! You have unilaterally stomped on the personal rights of many to cater to the demands of a few. All these people that push these unwanted rules and guidelines about Christianity need to remember...that the day will come when God may remove himself from you..saying.."I know you not". A real shame.
