This is a petition to find people's interest in getting a Madison Metro bus stop built for Alder District 1 within the City of Madison. Depending on interest, one or more bus stops could be placed within District 1 near High Point Road and Midtown Road, which is located on the southwest corner of Madison.

By doing this, it would also enable disabled individuals to be picked up by Metro Paratransit within a 3/4 mile radius of this new bus stop(s). This is especially critical during the winters when the sidewalks and curb ramps are full of snow. Many of the disabled residents of this area are currently outside the boundary map of Metro Paratransit.

If you are not the owner of your residence (non-landlord), you are welcome to sign it, but in addition please forward this petition to your landlord. If you will NOT be riding Madison Metro or Metro Paratransit, you are still welcome to sign it. If you ever have a broken down vehicle, it could benefit you in the future if you do not have a way to car pool.

Instructions when signing petition:

STEP 1: Include Name, Email, and Comments in the Petition Signing Form, but DO NOT SIGN yet. In the Comments section, provide the Ward in which you live by searching with your address in the 2nd REQUIRED information below. This will be helpful to the public if you place that into the Comments section, but it is not required.

Feel free to get paper copies signed by your neighbors and email a scanned copy to the madisonwid1@gmail.com email address. Or simply take a picture of it with your smartphone and email it. If you post additional paper petitions (of this electronic petition) in any building, please get permission from the building owner(s) before you do so.

NOTE: This petition was not initiated by the City of Madison. Some residents in District 1 are trying to fix a few issues in the City of Madison. But these residents would like to remain anonymous as well.
