Calling all women and men, fathers and mothers. Please sign this petition to support women's right to chose her birth support and what is best for her families wellbeing. Whether or not you would choose this for your family. Women should have the right to birth safely with registered and quality medical support wherever they feel safe and secure to birth their child. Birth is a psycho-social event and stressful circumstances have major impacts on the woman's ability to birth her child (stress greatly impacts the hormonal cascade needed to support physiological childbirth). For some women that safe place is in a hospital and for some it is not. We should have the right to choose! Especially given that the evidence from large studies from all over the world supports the safety of homebirth, and the economic and psychological benefits for those who chose it and are appropriately supported. Want to save hospital beds and healthcare money? Supporting homebirth with experienced midwives and doctors is the way to go!

I've had two beautiful home births attended by amazing midwives. The service they provide is priceless and deserves to be protected.

Giving birth at home with my partner and two amazing midwives to support me was the best choice I ever made! Women deserve the right to choose how they give birth.

I have had the amazing experience of a home birth with two wonderfully professional midwives. It was everything i hoped it to be and more. It would be truly heartbreaking if this was to become unattainable for those who wish to use the services of private midwives in a home birth setting.

Countries like the uk lead the way in homebirths, where statistics show that for low risk pregnancy, birthing at home can be the safest option. I have the right to birth at home as do all women who choose to.

Our birth experience would have been much easier with a private midwife at a homebirth - make it happen

I hope this helps. I want to freedom to know I can birth in my own home with a birth expert present and without the approval from an obstetrian.

This is a womens right. To birth where and with whom they want to. This will only give women no choice to free birth as birthing in a hospital is just not an option for many. Stop the scare tactics look at the evidence and the whole picture. Europe have it right and look at their statistics.

My midwife played a huge role in my emotional wellbeing which will stay with me forever, she helps many women, if she can't offer home birth we will lose a valuable service.
