Midwife-assisted homebirth is safe, valuable and beautiful, as well as resource-efficient. One of my daughters was born at home, after arriving in the world so quickly that we couldn't make it to hospital. Our midwives were there with us, ensuring that everyone was safe and healthy. Removing a midwife's ability to attend homebirths puts lives at risk and makes Australia seem ridiculously backward. It also puts unnecessary pressure on the hospital system.

Statistically homebirths are the safest and it makes total sense because the woman is feeling empowered and supported in the most profound way when she is in her home with the support of a trained midwife

Give private Midwifes the respect n support they need to do the amazing work they do. They are saving hospitals n tax payers millions it's actually cheaper to give birth at home than in a hospital it's simple allow mothers, babies, fathers, Midwifes the right they deserve.

Home births provide a safe alternative for healthy normal, low risk maternal woman & take pressure off the health system. Private midwives are highly qualified & woman need to be given the option to choose them if it suits their circumstances

It is vital that women have choice in birth. Birth belongs to women and many of us choose home as the optimal environment to bring our babies into the world. It is cost effective and very safe.

Seriously?! This shouldn't even be an issue that is raised! Women and their families have the right to birth where they want and they want a midwife who is rightly insured to do their job!
