Petition to Allow Big Game Hunting with Semiautomatic Rifles in Pennsylvania
The Goal. To convince Pennsylvania lawmakers to let hunters use semiautomatic rifles when hunting big game.
The Problem. Pennsylvania is 1 of only 2 states to still outlaw the use of semiautomatic rifles in big game hunting. A small minority of Pennsylvania’s game hunting population somehow convinced the state’s gaming commission to overturn an earlier ruling in 2016 that allowed the use of semiautomatic rifles for game hunting. Those who voted against the 2016 ruling imagined that allowing the use of semiautomatic rifles for game hunting would result in bullets flying indiscriminately. But figures gathered by the state’s gaming commission shows that no higher incidences of hunting accidents have occurred in any of the other states where the use of semiautomatic rifles is permitted.
The Solution. There are several advantages to using semiautomatic rifles for big game hunting. For one, newer rifles have less recoil, which minimizes the possibility of falling off stance and causing more hunting accidents. Semiautomatic rifles also produce kills that are cleaner and more humane, resulting in fewer injured deer running around in the Pennsylvania wilderness.
Let us change the view on the use of semiautomatic rifles for game hunting in Pennsylvania and help us spread the word on responsible game hunting. Sign this petition today. For details, please visit: https://www.targettamers.com/
