"U Grading" encourages people to open otherwise perfectly fine carded figures simply for a resell advantage wholly-fabricated by those that DO the "U" grading. It's damaging to the hobby, and simply a selfish attempt by the AFA to make MORE money at the expense of collectors everywhere.

What the hell is "U" grade anyway. I take a figure off a beater bubble, send it in and get a "U" grade just to fetch a premuim? I don't think so. "U" grade is/was meant to mean "uncirculated" as in never released. Such as a sales sample, Kenner employees personal collection etc. The grade has been exploited to death, to the point where now "U" means unsatisfactory.
Hate the idea of carded, unopened figures being ripped open and graded. It's an absolute crushing blow to this hobby.

Please stop the U grade. It is not necessary nor is it helpful. A high grade figure is just that...a high grade figure. I have seen and I posses many beautiful figures that are nicer than figures on cards. The concept of "uncirculated" is irrelevant as the figure's condition stands on its own

You have to 'break' the packaging to U Grade. Breaking a vintage item really cant be a good thing!

The U grade is severely detrimental to the preserving of any carded figure especially anything that is 5 years or older in release. Especially for any toys from 70s and 80s that ate rarer to find that are MOC. It is almost irresponsible for someone to want to U grade a perfectly preserved figure on a card that another collector would appreciate.
