This store is the only location that offers options of healthy food. With this location going out people will resort to eating much more fast food, especially those who lack a mode of transportation. I truly hope this store stays open!

Please do not leave the S.Limestone location. This store is vital to the community. If anything it needs upgraded desperately but not removed. When I was in high school in Hilliard Oh back in the late 80’s I always heard my business law teacher Cathy Tebay talk about how proud she was of her husband who worked for Kroger’s corporate. I can’t imagine she would be proud of a decision made by Kroger‘s to pull out of a community that needs it so desperately.

Coming from a professional in the Public Health field that lives in Springfield- please reconsider keeping this Kroger open. Food deserts kill people and everyone should have the right and access to a close grocery store with healthy food choices!

This was the ONLY place we had to go be we had no transportation. We had to walk and I have three steps kids and a baby and we still walked there. It would not be a smart idea bc alot of people still don't have transportation and that's there only way to get food from a store. A lot of people have kids around here too.

I am a single father, with no current means of transportation other than our busing system. I live on Woodward ave. 4 out of 7 days a week I walk to Kroger's for groceries, hygiene products for me and my daughter, and good produce so we may survive. Closing this store will make me put unadded stress on family and friends to find time out of their day to take me to and from a place across town. With my work schedule and theirs this is a hardship all in itself. Closing this Kroger's that provide for so many of us I feel would be a great tragedy. Not only making the south side of Springfield a food desert, but also bringing down the sense of community we are able to experience when visiting our local supermarket. Family, friends, neighbors, and community members meet up at our local Kroger's. Without this supermarket in our neighborhood not only will the people suffer, but so will the businesses surrounding it. Please reconsider this action.

Other communities have dealt with this situation by initiating a co-op/membership structure with residents to purchase the facilities. An Example can be found by googling Greenbelt Maryland Grocery Co-Op of which I was a member.
