Kroger just confirmed they are reversing the decision to close our store. My neighbors and I will still have local access to fresh food because you refused to let our community be abandoned. We won this together and I am just so relieved for every family who relies on this …
Please help me petition in a respectful way for the corporate offices of Kroger management to have a meeting with community stakeholders about reconsideration of closing a critical food source for hundreds of citizens on the south side and surrounding areas. Please add a signature to the petition so we can deliver to Kroger corporate and then have other community leaders join in to ask for options and a resolution to remain on the southside and not create a food desert that will threaten the existence of healthy community. This includes youth, families, adults, elderly, veterans, singles, and all other populations and people groups. Please join in and sign up. We will use these signatures for next steps. Thank you.
Seeing the count climb toward one thousand gives me hope that Kroger might finally listen to the neighbors who depend on this store for daily meals. We need a final surge to reach that milestone so we can force a conversation about the future of our food security.

My neighbors depend on this grocery store for their daily bread and we are pushing toward one hundred signatures to show corporate that this location is essential. Please send this link to your family members and neighbors so we can reach this milestone before we present our case to management.

This is a residential low income neighborhood with many single parent homes and elderly households. Please either reconsider closing or selling the building for a reasonable price so another grocery can provide fresh foods for the local community.

Please don't close the Kroger's on South limestone please. I have 15 family and friends that goes to that Kroger's because there is not another store in the area and they are disabled and some of them have to car and a couple are in wheelchairs. Please don't close

This store is the only location that offers options of healthy food. With this location going out people will resort to eating much more fast food, especially those who lack a mode of transportation. I truly hope this store stays open!

Coming from a professional in the Public Health field that lives in Springfield- please reconsider keeping this Kroger open. Food deserts kill people and everyone should have the right and access to a close grocery store with healthy food choices!

People rely on this store for their most basic needs. Kroger invests millions into newer stores, yet neglects the people of our community who were their most loyal customers. Kroger, you should do the right thing and keep this store open.

I was one of those struggling parents of 5 that had to walk to South limestone Kroger’s from Lincoln park st and it was a major. Convenience for us to get what we needed on foot it will hinder a lot of us to see this store close with no other place near to shop

I don’t agree with the closing. It’s the only grocery store on that side of town. Also people are going to be trying to walk to the store cause they have no transportation and buses stop running early and it is way too far to be trying to walk to. They have a Kroger’s on the East, West, and the North so why try to shut down the South? It’s crazy!!!
