First of all he talked about his native Ethiopia not the US or the university. Secondly, he discussed what used to be said in history and he used a reported speech. Plus there was nothing offensive in his statement. Diaspora ethnic politicans started petitions against him because of complex internal politics in Ethiopia, which the Moore House College shan't delve in.

I honestly don't understand why some of these oromo activist been over sensitive and try to make life of thier fellow brother difficult. Once Jewar Mohamed was saying Christians in Ethiopians should be all killed.,now his group are using social media to insult, abuse, blackmail this historian.
As Christian orthodox oromo I am ashamed of this group ,who think no orthodox oromo exist and insulting amara's,other tribes using derogatory terms.
Professor Haile is historian told us what we don't wanna hear rather than crying 24/7 over what he said why can't one person fell to challenge him?but what I see is insulting him.
We all know most of them are working for the current Ethiopia government/tplf/
I stand with professor Haile learabo
Not with Jewar mecha group

He gave an interview completely based on facts in the ground and recorded history as an intellectual and expert in Ethiopian, African and world history. But for those who fabricate a new history based on the illusion of their tibes and deep hate on other, they couldn't accept the whole history , which is the truth, nothing , but the truth.
